Open Letter to Governor Christie From Hoboken Revolt (Jan 28, 2010)

"The State's excessive delay in releasing the police department audit is inexplicable and inexcusable. It is an affront to the principle of open government and
undermines the ability of our elected officials to take responsible steps toward right-sizing our budget. We ask that, consistent with your expressed commitment to fiscally responsible, honest and open government, you direct DCA to release the police department audit immediately and direct the state fiscal monitor not
to present the city council with the proposed police department labor contract, or finalize it, until the report is forthcoming and there is a reasonable opportunity to review it. Finally, whether or not the fiscal monitor has the legal authority to overrule the city council on this issue, to do so would effectively disenfranchise the voters of Hoboken. We ask that you consider instructing Ms. Tripodi to honor the decision of the city council on the contract issue." Read the complete letter and join the discussion here.

Mayor Zimmer Replies to Revolt's Request for Public Safety Audits (Jan 8, 2010)

"As you noted in your letter, I called for the release of the public safety audits early in 2009, and I am pleased to inform you that just this afternoon, State DCA Director Jacobbuci told me that the Police audit is in the final editing stage. She committed to provide the Police Audit to the City by January 18th. Once the City receives the document I will provide Police Chief Falco and Public Safety Director Alicea with one week to review the audit before it is released publicly." Read the complete letter here.

Hoboken Revolt Requests the Release of Public Safety Audits (Dec 26, 2009)

In a letter to Mayor Zimmer Hoboken Revolt requested the release of the Public Safety Audit conducted by State Monitor Judy Tripodi. The letter states "obtaining forensic and efficiency audits of city agencies and departments is an essential first step toward identifying cost savings, while ensuring that we continue to meet the needs of the community. Revolt encourages your administration to expedite the process of conducting audits and then promptly making the reports available for review by members of the public. Any completed audit reports should be released immediately to facilitate meaningful public discussion at the upcoming budget hearings." Read the complete letter here.

Letter Sent To Assemblywoman Joan Quigley In Support Of Legislation Making Union Contract Arbitration More Transparent and Balanced (Nov 19, 2009)

"It has come to our attention that there are two state legislature bills pertaining to arbitration reform currently sitting in the Committee of State Government since June of 2008. We ask that you bring these two bills to the floor for a vote in the
upcoming session of the legislature..."Click here to read PDF Version.

Fighting to ensure fiscal responsibility in Hoboken government and the fair allocation of property taxes among all property owners.

SIGN THE PETITION: UPCOMING MUNICIPAL CONTRACT NEGOTIATIONS!

While many residents of Hoboken who work in the private sector are losing their jobs, taking pay cuts or, at best, experiencing salary freezes, labor agreements being negotiated with Hoboken municipal workers reflect very generous salary increases and benefit packages that will further drive up our taxes. Learn more and sign the petition.
